I have worked as an audiologist since August 1998. I graduated from Minot State University with my masters in audiology and began my career as the audiologist for the Saskatchewan Hearing Aid Plan in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Approximately 1 year later, I began working as the dispensing audiologist at Chinook Hearing in Calgary, Alberta (this is the clinic I had done my practicing with, and was thrilled to have the job). A few years later, I had heard about a job as an audiologist for a multi-office hearing clinic and decided to apply. This was a great move for me, because in 2002, I became an owner along with my great partner, Ian Campbell, of Calgary Hearing Aid and Audiology 2002.
This has always been my dream since I thought about becoming an Audiologist. I became a mother, in 2002, to a little girl; Alexis. At that time I knew Calgary was too big for me and my career ambitions. My husband and I (an audiologist as well) decided to move to Brandon, Manitoba to expand the clinic and live a simpler life. So in February 2007, pregnant with my second daughter Olivia, we moved to Brandon and opened Advanced Hearing Clinic; while we were taking our 3rd and final year of our doctorate degree in audiology. The move was great for our professional career as well as personally. Brandon was in need of our services.
2010 was the year we purchased our competition in Brandon and, yet again, expanded our company. Brandon was a great move. I absolutely love what I do(and I know it shows in my work). I am really glad I chose this profession and would do it all over again.
